It All Shall Begin Again

This collage is modeled after the form of a 14th century Tibetan Buddhist mandala, made as a tool of meditation. Borrowing this form, my making of the collage became my own meditation on the experience of being a human living on earth in very devastating moments in our history. There is always nuance among the darkness. Images of war and natural disaster are juxtaposed with space travel, the vast universe, the natural world, cultural artifacts. Mundanity alongside catastrophe. Nature beside culture. Fire next to water. The microscopic and the macroscopic. Everything finds its contrast and balance.
