Thor and His Maddening Yen for a Damsel

Gouache, ink, and comic book. 2006. 6.75” x 10.25” x .125”

Beginning with a Thor comic book from 1981 (#305, Cry of the Death-Angel), I painted out all the words and every bit of illustration besides Thor himself. In Thor’s newly written in dialogue, he laments his inability to find a lasting relationship and frets about the changes to his married friends' lives. Inside, this Norse God must be as messed up as the rest of us.
